Floor cleaners & maintenance

There are a great many different types of floor that must all be cleaned and maintained in a specific manner. The most important point of departure is that the floor must meet all requirements quickly, with as little effort as possible and preferably without disrupting normal activities.

What product is used for which object and with what application?

Soft floors

For soft floors it is best to use a carpet cleaner. It will also be necessary to change the dosage of this cleaner depending on the composition of the soft floor (for example, a wool or Berber carpet, or a normal or project carpet).

ATTENTION: Naturally, the colourfastness of the carpet must be checked in order to prevent discolouration!

The liquid extraction method is normally used for the cleaning of soft floors – the carpet is cleaned, neutralised and vacuumed dry with a carpet cleaning machine.

Hard floors

There are many different hard floor coverings, such as vinyl, PVC, linoleum and varnished wood, but, for example, also laminate, Floor tiles, unvarnished wood, etc.

Many of these floors are given a wax coating in order to protect them from daily ‘use’.

Daily maintenance can take place by using a floor cleaner, by manual cleaning with a bucket and sponge, or by means of a scrubbing/vacuuming machine. Mop cleaning agents are also used – these products clean and then give the floor a thin wax coating.

It is prudent to give the floor a new wax coating on a regular basis. To do this, the first wax coating must be removed with a stripper and then neutralised before the wax coating can be applied.

Not every wax is the same. For example, a varnished floor needs a different type of wax to a linoleum floor or an unvarnished wood floor. Militex has a suitable wax for every situation in its range.

Using the correct agents for a certain floor and devoting care and attention to the maintenance will enable you to enjoy your floor for many years.
